On the plus, this shape –just like the pear shape- requires less depth than a round brilliant.
In other words, the oval shape shows more ‘visual surface’ than a round brilliant where 2/3rd of its carat weight goes into its depth.
Red flag: An oval shaped diamond that is too shallow will lack sparkle and appears as glass.
